Before they start kindergarten, children need to be able to write their first and last names. This task should not be daunting or frustrating. TIPS FOR NAME-WRITING PRACTICES

Your child will feel confident and happy when you help them practice writing their names.

You should not only have them practice their first and last names but also their last names.

This is a great way to teach capital letters. The first letter in your child’s name must be capitalized.

Additionally, practising fine motor skills is important and helps with letter recognition.

FUN WAYS FOR KIDS TO PRACTICE WRITING SKILLS

These bags are amazing. You can fill a large Ziploc bag with half a bottle of hair gel and some food colouring. Write their names on paper to make it easy for them to use. Place the gel bag on top of the paper. You can have your children trace the letters to create their names.

This is a great way to teach children (from 2 years old) how to write their names. You don’t need to worry about your little ones sticking glitter or fingers in their mouths.

For practice tracing, create sandpaper letters of the name.

Sensory experiences are a favourite with children. This helps children recognize that letters must be arranged in a certain order. Sandpaper is used to write your name. To form their letters, your child will need to use yarn.

Name Writing: Dot-to-Dot

This technique is especially helpful for older children who have inherited bad habits. Make a series numbering from the point they begin. Children must follow the dots in order. Your child should start with many dots and gradually reduce the number of dots.

Glittery Name Letters Name Letters – Cool Way to Write Name

You can review their names multiple times a day. Write their names on a piece of cardboard or stiff paper. Use glue to trace the letters of your child’s name. Use glitter to cover the glue. Once the glue has dried, you can trace your letters using your fingers.

This is a great way for your child to practice their name. It also gives your child an opportunity to express their creativity.

To catch excess glitter, I suggest you put something under it.

You can scramble or unscramble the letters of your name.

Tape the letters of the name onto the floor. Grab the bin of cars. Let your children drive the letters of their names around. Please encourage your children to drive their cars along the roads as they would write them.
